FAQs
Any questions before reaching out?
Here's some frequently Asked ones that may help:
What happens in the free 15-minute phone call?
This is a brief, informal chance for us to connect. You can share a little bit about what is bringing you to therapy right now, and I can answer any questions you have about how I work. It’s a no-pressure way for us to see if we feel like a good fit before agreeing to a full consultation session to consider our longer term commitment.
What should I expect from our first session?
The first full session is about getting to know you more deeply. We’ll discuss your history, your expectations for therapy and me as a therapist. It’s also a space for you to get a feel for my style and for us to decide how we might work together.
What does "Intersectional" and "Relational" therapy actually mean?
Intersectional: It means I recognize that you aren't just one thing. Your race, class, gender, sexuality, and disability all overlap to shape how you experience the world—and how the world treats you.
We won't ignore these contexts; we'll bring them into the room.
Relational: This means we pay attention to what happens between us in the therapy room. Often, the way we relate to others (and ourselves) shows up in the therapeutic relationship, offering us an opportunity to explore and heal those patterns.
How often will we meet?
I believe that consistency is key to the therapeutic process, so we would commit to working once a week at a regular, recurring time. Each session lasts 50 minutes.
Is your practice truly inclusive?
Absolutely. I am LGBTQ+ aware and inclusive. I provide a gender-affirming space and fully accept all sexualities and relationship identities (including poly and kink). My practice in Leyton is also fully wheelchair accessible.
